While these features are designed to delete the message or image BBM chat view of the recipient, do not prevent beneficiaries of capturing an image of the content by taking a screenshot or using a device imaging. Retracting a message after it has been read by the recipient will be able to remove the message from BBM chat view, but not affect copies of the message that the recipient may have done before the message retracted.
